Dr. Brand has conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations in forensic, disability, and employment cases related to posttraumatic stress disorder, dissociative disorders, and personality disorders. She has provided assessments of defendants involved in murder and interpersonal trauma at the state and federal level. In civil cases related to medical malpractice, personal injury, and disability issues, she has served as an expert witness for plaintiffs and defendants. Dr. Brand was an expert in an Australian Supreme Court suit against the Catholic Church for sexual and physical abuse of a student that took place decades earlier. Dr. Brand has also served as an expert witness in cases involving women who have killed, or been involved in the killing of, their partners due to the influence of psychological disorders and/or the influence of threats and violence. Dr. Brand has also been an expert in cases with defendants facing capital punishment for murder.
